The Experiment Continues
The stories ended. The mistakes probably didn't.

1. Behind the Book
The Spreadsheet
-
Yes, the spreadsheet was real. And yes, I actually spent my Sunday mornings reviewing my dating failures in Excel.
-
It started pretty simply. After going out, I'd write down what happened, what worked, what went wrong, and what I should do differently next time.
Here's a simplified example of an actual situation from the book:
My notes What happened Met a woman, told a funny story, got her number, went on a date. What worked The story made her laugh and created a connection. What went wrong The date was pleasant but boring. I barely flirted. Lesson Being interesting isn't necessarily the same as creating attraction. Next time Work on making romantic interest clear, not just having a good conversation. Over time, the spreadsheet got more sophisticated. I added dates, locations, people I'd met, skills I was practicing, and how far each interaction progressed. Eventually, I had separate tabs for contacts, lessons, successful approaches, and tracking improvement.
The real breakthrough came when I started looking for patterns.
At one point, I reviewed months of interactions and discovered I'd made essentially the same mistake fifty times. Different women, different bars, different conversations. Same problem.
That was the power of the log. Instead of guessing why things weren't working, I could identify exactly where I was struggling, focus on improving that skill, and track whether anything changed.
It was incredibly useful. It was also an absurd amount of work.
Which eventually led to another question: What if AI could do most of this for you?

3. The AI Experiment
What if the spreadsheet could think for itself?
Keeping track of hundreds of interactions taught me a lot about dating. But spending my Sunday mornings analyzing everything I'd screwed up wasn't exactly my idea of fun.
So I've been exploring a better way.
Imagine an AI companion that actually learns from your dating life.
Not another app that writes clever pickup lines or tells you what to text a girl.
Something that remembers your experiences, recognizes patterns in your behavior, and helps you figure out what you're doing right, what keeps going wrong, and what to work on next.
You could tell it about a date or a night out, and instead of giving you generic advice, it could help you:
-
Spot recurring mistakes you might not even realize you're making.
-
Remember what matters, including previous interactions, lessons, and people you've met.
-
Focus on one thing to improve, rather than trying to learn everything at once.
-
Track your progress and see whether you're actually getting better.
The idea is simple: An AI that doesn't just help you get a date. It helps you become better at dating.
Where are we now?
It's still an experiment. I'm exploring what to build, which features would actually be useful, and whether AI can make the learning process easier than my ridiculous spreadsheets ever did.
I'll share updates here as the project develops.

No promises of magical attraction. Just the possibility of making fewer mistakes than I did.
